Conquer Paralysis Now Has a Lot to Celebrate . . . .
Las Vegas – On Wednesday, September 28, 2016, our Founder and Chairman Sam Schmidt received the first driver’s license restricted to an autonomous vehicle in the U.S. during a press conference at Exotics Racing. The license allows him to drive on Nevada roads in a specially modified Corvette designed by Arrow Electronics, which requires no hands on its steering wheel or feet on its pedals. Sam uses head motions and breathing to control the car's direction and speed. The CPN Foundation, donors, board members, staff and volunteers are so proud of Sam for showing us that “anything is possible.” Sam is a true inspiration to us all.
To honor Sam and his great accomplishment, Conquer Paralysis Now hosted a day-long fundraising event in Vegas following the press conference. At Exotics Racing, Sam showcased his driving skills on the racetrack and CPN guests were given the opportunity to drive a supercar. In the evening there was more fun and fundraising at TopGolf on the Vegas strip. Thank you to all who attended and/or supported our very successful event!
