How to enter

Applicants first need to register at and then click on the award they wish to enter at

After filling out some background information, applicants will be asked to upload their proposals.

Proposal structure

The proposal structure and focus for each grant award will be different. Therefore, to view the specific requirements for each award, you will need to login or register then click on the award you want to enter at However, the following applies to all Stage I awards.

Each proposal is limited to four pages in total. References and table of content (if applicable) are excluded from this page count. Submissions need to be presented in a format that the judges will be able to review easily. As a guideline, submissions should have:

•A font size of no smaller than 11, with single or double-spacing within paragraphs and double-spacing between paragraphs.

•Margins of one inch on all four sides.

All proposals should include:

•Summary (equivalent length of 0.5 pages)
•Background and significance
•Specific aims
•Potential impact
•Research design and methods*
•Landscape scan (maximum 0.5 pages)

*All proposals  must be suitable for chronic SCI models. If acute models are used, the grant application must clearly state how and why the additional effort of using a chronic model is not justified and how the idea would be translated to a chronic model.

•CVs for all team members
•A financial breakdown of how funding will be used
•Letters of support from their advisors and collaborators
