OUR STORY

Conquer Paralysis Now (CPN) was founded in 2000 with a commitment to find a cure for paralysis and help give independence to individuals living with neurological conditions. We are a leading authority on spinal cord injury (SCI) research and treatment. We work every day towards one goal: Finding a cure for paralysis.
Founded by Sam Schmidt, the original mission of CPN was to fund research and provide advocacy and programming for SCI patients and their families. Though the foundation achieved many successes over the next decade, the ultimate goal remained elusive: a cure.
For almost 20 years CPN focused on research, advocacy and support. In 2018, we realized that the need to ensure those eligible for research/trials and any possible cure needed ongoing physical rehabilitation along with mental and emotional pathways to success. In November of 2018 –DRIVEN NeuroRecovery Center opened its doors with a focus on providing ongoing physical, mental and emotional support – despite insurance or financial imitations.

Achieving functional recovery from chronic SCI will be a historic milestone in the advancement of human knowledge and empowerment. The dramatic moment when an individual previously diagnosed with irreversible paralysis takes his or her first steps will be celebrated around the world. It will be a testament to humanity’s progress in the mastery of science and nature.
